Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot, 135-pound junior won the DCSAA title this past season with a time of 15:45.5, leading the Bulldogs to a runner-up finish as a team. Hume took 19th at the competitive MileStat.com Invitational in a personal-best time of 15:25.0 and also broke the tape at the Maryland Invitational—one of his five race victories. He completed his 2023 campaign with a 33rd-place finish at the Nike Cross Northeast Regional Championships.

Academic Achievement

Hume has maintained an A average in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.

Exemplary Character

A practiced piano player who also plays trombone in the school orchestra, Hume has volunteered locally with the Rock Creek Conservancy and with Shepherd’s Table, which provides assistance to those fighting hunger and homelessness. He also heads the school’s Service Board and its Cyberpatriot Team, serves as Technology Editor for the school publication The Exchanged, and has donated his time coaching an elementary school basketball team.
