The state’s returning Gatorade Girls Track & Field Player of the Year, the 5-foot-10 junior swept the 100- and 200-meter titles at the Class 6A state meet for a second consecutive time this past season, also contributing as part of winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay foursomes, helping the Lakers grab a share of the team championship. Her state-record clocking of 22.43 in the 200 tied the No. 2 clocking in history by a prep girl, while her state record in the 100 (11.00), set at the state championships, makes her the No. 4 competitor in U.S. girls prep history in the event. Brahe-Pederson also won the 100 and 200 championship at Nike Outdoor Nationals to go with her 60-meter dash and 200 titles at Nike Indoor Nationals. The consummate team player, she contributed to the fastest performances in state history as part of the Lakers’ 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay quartets.
Brahe-Pedersen has maintained a 3.88 weighted GPA in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
Brahe-Pedersen has volunteered locally feeding the unhoused in addition to mentoring middle school athletes.
