Athletic Excellence


The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 6-foot, 160-pound senior point guard averaged 26.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 3.3 assists per game this past season, leading the Eagles (25-8) to the Division II, Class AA state championship game. The 2024 Division II-AA Mr. Basketball winner, Tanner is a three-time First Team All-State selection and a three-time Mr. Basketball finalist. Ranked as the nation’s No. 133 recruit in the Class of 2024 by PrepHoops, he is also No. 1 in Tennessee.

Academic Achievement


Tanner has maintained an A average in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at Vanderbilt University this fall.

Exemplary Character


Tanner has volunteered locally as part of community beautification projects and he has donated his time as a youth basketball coach and mentor.
