The 5-foot-6 senior midfielder scored 14 goals and passed for 10 assists this past season, leading the Cougars (23-2-1) to the Division 5A state championship game. Buchanan is a two-time Division 5A First Team All-State selection and was named 2023 Division 5A State Player of the Year. She concluded her prep soccer career with 33 goals and 33 assists.
Buchanan has maintained a weighted 4.55 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer on scholarship at UNLV this fall.
Buchanan has volunteered locally as part of multiple community service initiatives through the National Charity League, and she has donated her time to First H.E.L.P, which raises awareness of mental health issues for first responders.
