Athletic Excellence


The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 6-foot senior outside hitter amassed 621 kills and 231 digs this past season, leading the Hawks (19-7) to the Class 6A state quarterfinals. Fuqua also tallied 34 service aces and 32 blocks, posting a .445 kill percentage and a .307 hitting percentage on the attack. A PrepVolleyball.com Honorable Mention All-American honoree, she concluded her prep volleyball career with 1,511 kills.

Academic Achievement


Fuqua has maintained a weighted 3.77 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on scholarship at the University of Arizona this fall.

Exemplary Character


Fuqua participated in an internship last summer with Las Cruces Public Schools, assisting computer programmers to update and set up technological devices within the school system. She has volunteered locally with Best Buddies International and as an English Language Learners tutor.
