SOFTBALL AMERICA CLASS OF 2021 RANKING
“Tatum is, no question, the best pitcher not only in the state of Kansas, but Top 10 in the nation. Tatum is one of the most competitive kids I’ve ever been around. She’s a special player and person.”
Ryan Taylor
Head Coach - Clopton’s summer ball coach

Athletic Excellence

The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 5-foot-10 junior right-handed pitcher was named the best player in the state by MaxPreps.com during the 2020 preseason. Clopton was dominant at the 16-and-under Premier PGF National Championships last summer for her DeMarini Aces club team, striking out 22 batters while allowing just five hits in 12 innings pitched. She moved up to the Aces’ 18U team last fall and posted a 0.91 earned run average while averaging more than two strikeouts per inning. She is ranked as the nation’s No. 10 recruit in the Class of 2021 by Softball America.

Academic Achievement

Clopton has maintained a weighted 3.71 GPA in the classroom. She has made a verbal commitment to play softball on scholarship at Oklahoma State University beginning in the fall of 2021.

Exemplary Character

A member of her school’s choir, Clopton has volunteered locally as a youth softball and volleyball coach.
