The 2014-15 Gatorade State Player of the Year, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound senior quarterback led the Gaels to a 15-0 record, the No. 1 ranking in the USA TODAY Super 25 and an eighth straight Division I state championship this past season. Martell completed 136-of-215 passes for 2,362 yards and 41 touchdowns with just one interception. He also rushed for 1,257 yards and 21 scores. A U.S. Army All-American and a finalist for the Maxwell Football Club's National High School Player of the Year award, he was 45-0 as a starter for the Gaels and concluded his prep career with 113 touchdown passes.
Martell has maintained a 3.32 GPA in the classroom.
He has volunteered locally as a youth football coach and as a mentor to elementary-school students.
