The 5-foot-10 senior right-handed pitcher led the Eagles to a 42-2 record and the Class 5A state championship this past season. Simpson compiled a 21-0 mark in the circle with a 0.18 earned run average, allowing just 36 hits and 24 walks to go with 271 strikeouts in 119.1 innings pitched. Simpson tossed four no-hitters with one perfect game and was the winning pitcher in seven of the Eagles’ 11 postseason victories. At the plate, the District 21-5A co-Most Valuable Player batted .246 with two home runs and 14 runs batted in.
Simpson has maintained an A average in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at the University of Texas this fall.
Simpson has volunteered locally at a homeless shelter and food bank, and she has donated toys to underprivileged youth during the Christmas season.
