The 6-foot-5, 295-pound senior throws specialist won two individual state titles at the Class B state meet this past season, leading the Vikings to second place as a team. Sunram launched the discus 196 feet, 4 inches at states, which was the nation’s No. 19 throw among prep boys prep competitors this spring and set a new state record. He also won the shot put with a 61-6 effort. At the Soaring Eagle Invitational in May, Sunram set a Class B state record by putting the shot 64-1, which ranked No. 25 nationally. He is also a four-star football recruit as rated by 247Sports.
Sunram has maintained a 3.91 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football on scholarship at the University of Minnesota this fall.
A National Honor Society member, Sunram has volunteered locally on behalf of a food bank and as a peer tutor.
