The 6-foot-6, 235-pound senior forward led the Rams to a 25-1 record and their third consecutive Class B state championship title this past season. Johnston averaged 22 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists this past season, capped off by a 31-point, 13-rebound performance in the state final—a game in which he scored 17 consecutive points in the first quarter of a 91-57 win over Lodge Grass. He was also Montana’s 2023-24 Gatorade Player of the Year.
Johnston has maintained an A average in the classroom. He has verbally committed to play basketball at the College of Idaho this fall.
A National Honor Society member, Johnston has volunteered locally at youth basketball camps. He has also worked as a river safety guide on commercial whitewater rafting trips.
