The 6-foot-1 junior outside hitter led the Cavaliers to a 35-4 record and the Class 5A, Division 1 state championship this past season. Shugart recorded 464 kills and 261 digs, including a 27-kill, 17-dig effort in Dorman’s 3-1 win over Wando High in the state final. The Class 5A Player of the Year and an American Volleyball Coaches Association Second Team All-American honoree, she compiled 57 service aces, 30 assists and 28 blocks on the year in addition to posting a .457 kill percentage and a .309 hitting percentage.
Shugart has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. She has made a verbal commitment to receive athletic aid to play volleyball at Auburn University beginning in the fall of 2026.
Shugart has volunteered locally with Operation Christmas Child and the Special Olympics. She has also donated her time as a youth volleyball coach.
