The 5-foot-9, 140-pound sophomore raced to a U18 world record in the 400-meter dash this past season, crossing the line with a time of 44.59 seconds in the semifinals at this month’s U.S. Olympic Trials. Wilson also broke the tape at New Balance Nationals, clocking a meet-record time of 45.13 in the 400 to earn All-American honors. At the Beach Run Invitational in early April, Wilson won the 800 with a personal-best time of 1:50.44, which ranked as the nation’s No. 29 mark among prep boys this spring. He was named the Washington Post’s 2024 All-Met Athlete of the Year for boys track.
Wilson has maintained an A average in the classroom. He will begin his junior year of high school this fall.
An active member of the Bullis School’s Black Student Union, Wilson has volunteered locally with the Wayman Good Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church. He has also assisted with an effort to donate athletic shoes in association with the church’s youth group.
