The 6-foot-2, 170-pound senior guard led the Windjammers to a 20-2 record and a berth in the Class A state championship game this past season. Ames averaged 26.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and three steals per game, including a game-high 30 points in his team’s state championship loss to Portland. He finished his career as the leading scorer in Camden Hills history with 1,585 points and was named Maine’s 2025-26 Mr. Basketball.
Ames has maintained an A average in the classroom. He will attend Colby College this fall, where he will play basketball.
A three-year captain and member of the National Honor Society, Ames has volunteered locally with the YMCA and the Windjammer Basketball youth program. He works from spring through fall at a local restaurant shucking oysters and co-founded Coastal Grind Academy, his own basketball training endeavor.
