At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-5, 195-pound senior right-handed pitcher and first baseman had led the Crusaders (26-5) to the Class 6A state final. Meyer compiled a 10-1 record through 31 games, posting a 0.33 ERA with 128 strikeouts and just 19 walks in 63 innings pitched. Ranked as the nation’s No. 4 prospect in the Class of 2023 by Prep Baseball Report, Meyer batted .373 with five home runs, 27 RBI, 16 walks and 17 runs scored. A USA Baseball Prospect Development Pipeline participant, he also owned .488 on-base percentage and .720 slugging percentage entering the title game.
Meyer has maintained a weighted 3.54 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at the University of Oregon this fall, but is projected as a first round selection in July’s Major League Baseball draft.
Meyer has volunteered locally as a youth baseball coach.
