The 5-foot-11, 165-pound senior midfielder led the Raiders to a 21-0 record and the Class AA state championship this past season. Galeano scored nine goals and passed for seven assists and helped anchor a defense that allowed just 10 goals. Galeano scored the game-winner in Scarsdale’s 2-0 win over McQuaid Jesuit High in the state final. The Class AA Player of the Year, he was a 2022 United Soccer Coaches All-American selection.
Galeano has maintained a 3.66 GPA in the classroom. He will attend the University of Michigan this fall.
Galeano is the cofounder and president of the Pa’lanate Project, a non-profit organization that helps underprivileged children in Colombia. He has traveled to Colombia during each of the past two summers to serve as a mentor and youth soccer coach. A certified U.S. Soccer Federation referee, he has volunteered locally at the Don Bosco Soup Kitchen and as a youth soccer coach.
