“What makes her special is her competitiveness and athleticism. She is strong and fast and she uses these skills to get a shot or make a great pass. I was really impressed how she played within the team concept, but whenever they need a bucket, rebound, an assist or a steal, she just does it.”
Ron Reichle
Head Coach - Arrowhead High (Wisc.)

Athletic Excellence

At the time of her selection, the 5-foot-8 senior point guard had led the Lions to a 23-4 record this season and the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A state tournament. The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year, Greenway entered the postseason averaging 36.2 points, 9.2 assists, 6.9 rebounds and 6.3 steals per game while surpassing 1,000 points in a season for the fourth straight year—the first player in state history to achieve that feat. A McDonald’s All-American Game selection, she now owns state records for career points, with 5,505 and counting, breaking the previous record of 5,485. She also owns the state mark for career assists with 1,304.

Academic Achievement

Greenway has maintained a 3.72 weighted GPA in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play basketball at the University of Kentucky this fall.

Exemplary Character

Greenway has volunteered locally with Letters of Love, a student club that writes letters and cards to children suffering from illness and to military members serving overseas. She has also donated her time to the REACH Program at Hutchinson High, which helps students learn skills to overcome adversity.
