The 5-foot-8 senior forward led the Tigers to an 18-6-1 record and the Class 1A state championship this past season. Gehret scored 44 goals and passed for 23 assists, including four goals and an assist in Southern Columbia’s 5-3 win over Freedom Area High in the state final. The Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association’s Player of the Year, she’s a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American selection and a three-time Daily Item Player of the Year. She concluded her prep soccer career with 139 goals and 76 assists.
Gehret has maintained an A average in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer on scholarship at Monmouth University (N.J.) this fall.
A member of the Southern Columbia High student council, Gehret has volunteered locally on behalf of the Salvation Army and as a youth soccer and basketball coach. She’s also donated her time to a fundraising campaign to benefit the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
