Athletic Excellence

The state’s returning Gatorade Runner of the Year, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound senior won the Division A state meet for a third-straight year this past season with a time of 15:37.9, breaking the tape 5.8 seconds ahead of his next-closest competitor and leading the Navigators to a fourth-place finish as a team. Chot won all eight of his in-state races in 2020, and beginning with his sophomore year, he won 22 of 25 races against Nebraska competition.

Academic Achievement

Chot has maintained a weighted 4.07 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to run on scholarship at Temple University beginning this fall.

Exemplary Character

Chot fled The Sudan with his two brothers and moved to Nebraska, where he was adopted by his older sister. He has volunteered locally at a homeless shelter and food bank, and he has donated his time with local road races as well as on behalf of multiple community service initiatives through his church youth group.
