The state’s two-time returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 6-foot-3 senior outside hitter amassed 678 kills and 320 digs this past season, leading the Blue Raiders (32-12) to the Class AAA sectional final. Hurst also recorded 81 service aces, 72 assists and 34 blocks while posting a .491 kill percentage and a .352 hitting percentage at net. One of the top high school basketball players in the country as well, she concluded her prep volleyball career with a state-record 2,607 kills.
Hurst has maintained a 3.76 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play volleyball and basketball at the University of Tennessee this fall.
Hurst has volunteered locally as a youth volleyball and basketball coach, and she has donated her time as part of multiple community service initiatives through her church.
