The 5-foot-8 senior won the 800-meter run at the Trials of Miles Track Night NYC meet with a time of 1:59.80, which ranked as the nation’s No. 1 performance among prep competitors in 2022 and the No. 2 clocking in U.S. prep girls history. The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year in girls track and field, Whittaker also won the mile at the Brooks PR Invitational in 4:36.23, which ranked No. 3 nationally this season as well as No. 7 in prep history. In addition, she broke the tape in the 800, 1600 and 3200 at the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland championships.
Whittaker has maintained a weighted 4.46 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at Stanford University this fall.
The president of her class, Whittaker has volunteered locally at a soup kitchen and as a peer tutor.
