“This was a challenging season due to the pandemic, but Juliette was patient throughout and made the most of Maryland’s limited opportunities. She trained consistently, mostly on her own, with remarkable patience given the situation. She displayed such maturity throughout—she will not be swayed by adversity.”

Athletic Excellence

The state’s returning Gatorade Runner of the Year, the 5-foot-8 junior was undefeated during the fall season running as an individual. Mount de Sales did not stage a formal cross country season due to the pandemic. Whittaker won the Virginia Elite Invitational and she set a state record for the 5,000-meter run on a track with her time of 16:58.32 at the Bullseye Summer Track Series in October.

Academic Achievement

Whittaker has maintained a weighted 4.29 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.

Exemplary Character

The president of the Mount de Sales junior class, Whittaker has volunteered locally at a soup kitchen and as a peer tutor.
