Athletic Excellence


The 6-foot-7, 180-pound junior forward had led the Cardinals to a 27-6 record and a berth in a Class AA state tournament quarterfinals at the time of his selection. Lawson averaged 25.4 points, 11.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks through 33 games as Wooddale pursued its second straight state title. A two-time member of the Region 8-AA All-Tournament Team, he is ranked as the nation’s No. 42 recruit in the Class of 2021 by ESPN.com.

Academic Achievement


Lawson has maintained an A average in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.

An avid chess player, Lawson has volunteered locally as a peer tutor and as part of elementary school literacy programs.
