At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound junior quarterback had passed for 2,672 yards and 38 touchdowns, leading the Eagles (11-1) to the Division 2, Class A final. Curtis completed 71.5 percent of his passes and averaged 11.2 yards per attempt through 12 games, throwing just three interceptions. Ranked as the nation’s No. 4 prospect in the Class of 2026 by ESPN, he also rushed for 577 yards and 14 scores, averaging 7.7 yards per carry. He punted nine times for 35.7-yard average with all nine downed inside opponents’ 20-yard line.
Curtis has maintained a B average in the classroom. He will begin his senior year next fall.
For the past three years, Curtis has organized the collection and delivery of items for a Cozy Sock drive to benefit Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. He has also donated his time by running an annual Toothpaste/Toothbrush drive to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in addition to coaching and mentoring youth football players.
