The 6-foot-6, 185-pound senior guard had led the Mustangs to a 24-13 record and a berth in the Class 1A state championship game at the time of his selection. Schutt averaged 25.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game through 37 games. A two-time Associated Press All-State selection, Schutt was the 2021 Kendall Record and Beacon News Player of the Year. He entered the state title game with 2,299 points in his prep basketball career.
Schutt has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at Duke University this fall.
Schutt has volunteered locally with Feed My Starving Children, Operation Christmas Child and the Mooseheart Child City & School, a residential childcare facility for those in need. He has also donated his time to the Yorkville Parks and Rec Department and as a youth basketball coach.
