The 6-foot-5, 225-pound senior quarterback led the Raiders to a 9-1 record and the Mid-Atlantic Prep League championship. Moran passed for a state-record 4,513 yards, completing 203-of-278 passes (73.0 percent) for 47 touchdowns and five interceptions. The MAPL Offensive Player of the Year, he passed for a single-game state record 608 yards with seven TDs in a 51-6 win over Mount Zion Prep (Md.) on Sept. 28.
Moran has maintained a B average in the classroom. At the time of his selection, he had made a verbal commitment to receive athletic aid to play football at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte next fall.
Moran has volunteered locally with Books for Africa, collecting youth texts and library books to be donated. He has also given his time as a youth football coach and personal quarterback trainer.
