“Izzy can pick the ball up anywhere on the field and run past everyone. Or, she can combine quickly with her teammates and create a lovely assist. She’s the top female player to come through Minnesota in the 25-plus years I’ve been coaching.”
Sean Baker
Head Coach - head coach of Minneapolis Southwest High

Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-9 senior forward and midfielder led the Hornets to a 22-0 record and the Class AAA state championship this past season. Engle scored 41 goals and passed for 14 assists, netting both goals in Edina’s 2-1 win over Wayzata High in the state final. A member of the U.S. Soccer Under-19 Women’s National Team player pool, Engle was the Class AAA Ms. Soccer winner and a United Soccer Coaches All-American selection. She concluded her prep soccer career with 96 goals and 56 assists.

Academic Achievement

Engle has maintained a weighted 4.17 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer on scholarship at the University of Notre Dame this fall.

Exemplary Character

Engle has volunteered locally as a youth leader with Wyldlife, a middle school version of the faith-based YoungLife organization in addition to serving as a youth soccer coach.
