The 5-foot-7, 140-pound junior distance talent set a state record in the 800-meter run at the DIAA Meet of Champions this past season, clocking a winning time of 1:49.02, which ranked No. 5 nationally among prep boys competitors this spring. Walther, who also PR’d in the 1600 in 2024, won the 800 and the 3200 at the DIAA Division 1 state meet, leading the Sallies to the team title. He was the state’s Gatorade Boys Cross Country Player of the Year this past school year as well.
Walther has maintained a 4.04 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
A member of his school’s National Honor Society, Walther has volunteered locally as a youth lacrosse coach. While attending Delaware Military Academy, he was a National Junior ROTC platoon leader and held the rank of chief.
