The 5-foot-8 senior defender and forward led the Eagles to an 18-4-1 record and a second straight Class 3A state championship this past season. Gonzalez scored 28 goals and passed for 12 assists, netting the lone goal in Montverde’s 1-0 win over Edgewood High in the state final. The Class 3A Player of the Year, she is a member of Puerto Rico’s Women’s National Team. She concluded her two-year prep soccer career with 42 goals and 18 assists.
Gonzalez has maintained a weighted 3.83 GPA in the classroom. She will forgo playing collegiate soccer to study medicine at Universidad Europea de Madrid in Spain this fall.
Gonzalez has volunteered locally at the Montverde Academy sports concession stand, and she has donated her time to multiple community service initiatives through her church youth group.
