“Emily is by far the best player in the state. The way Emily would control the game was amazing. She was consistent throughout the season.”

Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-6 senior midfielder led the Cougars to a 17-2-1 record and the Class 5A state championship this past season. Aguilar scored 18 goals and passed for seven assists, and assisted on the game’s only goal during Cibola’s 1-0 victory over Carlsbad High in the state final. A 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-American selection, Aguilar is also a two-time First Team All-State honoree. She concluded her prep soccer career with 38 goals and 22 assists.

Academic Achievement

Aguilar has maintained a weighted 3.53 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer on scholarship at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs this fall.

Exemplary Character

A student senator at Cibola High, Aguilar has volunteered locally at a food bank and homeless shelter. She has also donated her time on behalf of multiple community service initiatives through her church.
