The 6-foot-5, 195-pound senior right-handed pitcher and shortstop led the Broncos to a 24-6 record and a third place finish in the Class 4A state tournament this past season. Whitney compiled a 10-0 record on the mound with a 0.27 ERA, surrendering just 10 hits in 52.2 innings pitched while striking out 130 batters. He also batted .483 with four home runs, 43 RBI and posted a 1.344 OPS. The nation’s No. 67 prospect in the Class of 2024 by Prep Baseball Report, he threw a five-inning perfect game on April 18 against Idaho Falls and another five-inning no-hitter against Hillcrest on May 3.
Whitney has maintained a 3.8 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Oregon State University this fall.
Whitney has volunteered locally on behalf of church service projects since he was 12 years old. He has also donated his time to a food pantry and as a youth baseball instructor.
