The 6-foot-3, 170 pound senior guard led the Hawks to a 18-3 record and the Class AA quarterfinals this past season. Evanson averaged 26.5 points and 5.2 assists per game, scoring 40 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in a January win over Sheyenne High. The North Dakota High School Coaches Association Senior Athlete of the Year and Mr. Basketball finalist, he’s ranked as the state’s No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2026 by PrepHoops. Evanson led Class AA in points (655) and assists (128) as well as steals per game (3.1) in his final season. He concluded his prep career with 1,775 points and 370 assists and will graduate as the program leader in both categories.
Evanson has maintained a 3.59 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play basketball at the University of North Dakota this fall.
Evanson has volunteered locally with Feed My Starving Children, an organization that aims to mitigate hunger and starvation among underserved youth. He has also donated his time as a coach with the Special Olympics and at youth basketball camps.
