“After competing for the last two years as a high schooler in Utah, Carter Cutting returned to Wilsonville for the first time since his freshman year and vaulted to No. 3 in state history among prep boys in both the 800 and the 1500. Despite a grueling middle distance/distance event combination this season, he managed to set two personal-bests in the final two weeks of this season, a testament to his fitness and attention to detail in peaking at the right time.”

A transfer from Corner Canyon High in Utah, Cutting finished fifth in the 800-meter run at the Brooks PR Invitational in 1:48.98, which ranked No. 9 nationally. He also swept the 800 and 1500 events at the Class 5A state meet, leading the Wildcats to a fourth place finish as a team. His personal-best 1500 clocking of 3:46.18 this spring ranked No. 5 nationally.
