“Carlie is something else. So athletic, so dangerous—she scored on us and we didn’t give her much to look at. She got one opportunity and buried it.”

Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-7 senior forward led the Banshees to a 22-4-2 record and the state championship this past season. Thurmond scored 33 goals and passed for 20 assists, netting two scores in Bethlehem’s 4-3 win over Sacred Heart Academy in the state final to earn tournament MVP honors. A three-time First Team All-State selection, she compiled nine goals and seven assists in the team’s eight-game postseason run to the title and she concluded her prep soccer career with a school-record 150 goals.

Thurmond has maintained a 3.98 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National letter of intent to play soccer on scholarship at Morehead State University this fall.
