The 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior left-handed pitcher, outfielder and first baseman led the Sabercats to a 28-3 record and the Class 4A state title this past season. Caminiti compiled a 9-0 on the mound with a 0.93 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 52.2 innings of work. Ranked as the nation’s No. 4 prospect in the Class of 2024 by Perfect Game, he also batted .493 at the plate with three home runs, 33 runs scored and 28 RBI to go with a .679 on-base percentage. He is one of two prep players in the country nominated for the 2023 Golden Spikes Watch List and was a 2023 Perfect Game All-American Game selection.
Caminiti has maintained a 3.28 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Louisiana State University this fall, but is projected as an early round selection in July’s Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.
Caminiti has volunteered locally on behalf of Home2First, an organization committed to providing new and used baseball equipment to underprivileged kids in poverty-stricken regions. He has also donated his time to Read Across America, promoting youth literacy programs.
