The 5-foot-7 senior right-handed pitcher had led the Riders (18-1) to the sectional championship game at the time of her selection. The state’s returning Gatorade Softball Player of the Year, Phippen owned an 18-1 record with a 0.06 ERA in the circle, along with a .500 batting average and 17 RBI through 19 games. She fanned 299 batters and walked just 10 in 122 innings pitched. Phippen is a three-time First Team All-State honoree and was the Colonial Council MVP as a junior.
Phippen has maintained an A average in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at Marist College this fall.
Phippen has volunteered locally on behalf of an animal shelter and Habitat for Humanity.
