“Phippen is the best player I’ve seen, and she’s continued to improve every year. She throws hard and can paint the black on the inside corner. She has a rise ball that kids can’t lay off and she hardly ever walks anyone. She can swing the bat pretty well too.”
John Squadrito
Head Coach at Catholic Central High

Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-7 senior right-handed pitcher had led the Riders (18-1) to the sectional championship game at the time of her selection. The state’s returning Gatorade Softball Player of the Year, Phippen owned an 18-1 record with a 0.06 ERA in the circle, along with a .500 batting average and 17 RBI through 19 games. She fanned 299 batters and walked just 10 in 122 innings pitched. Phippen is a three-time First Team All-State honoree and was the Colonial Council MVP as a junior.

Academic Achievement

Phippen has maintained an A average in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at Marist College this fall.

Exemplary Character

Phippen has volunteered locally on behalf of an animal shelter and Habitat for Humanity.
