Athletic Excellence


The 5-foot-7 senior shortstop led the Redskins (33-6) to their fifth consecutive Class AAA state championship this past season. Mathes batted .607 with 22 home runs and 73 RBI, compiling a slugging percentage of 1.337. A three-time First Team All-State selection, Mathes was also named the Kanawha Valley co-Player of the Year.

Academic Achievement


Mathes has maintained a 3.74 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at Marshall University beginning this fall.

Exemplary Character


Mathes has volunteered locally on behalf of the Fraternal Order of Police, youth sports clinics and a Christmas gift program for needy children.
