“Caden Buckley is a player that will not have a lot of stats as far as scoring and assists, but what Caden does is far more important than that. He is the spark plug of that defense. He is extremely physical, good in the air and has a work rate that matches his mentality: non-stop.”
Jose Gomez
Head Coach - Head coach of Palo Verde High

Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot, 160-pound senior defender led the Gaels to a 26-0-1 record and the Class 4A state championship this past season. Buckley tallied seven goals and six assists, including the only assist in Gorman’s 1-0 win over Eldorado High in the state final. The Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada Player of the Year, he is a three-time All-State selection. Also a participant in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region IV Olympic Development Program, he played in the High School All-American Game this past December.

Academic Achievement

Buckley has maintained a weighted 4.0 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer on scholarship at the University of Santa Clara.

Exemplary Character

Buckley has participated in a service-mission trip to Jamaica where he helped care for people in need, including children with HIV/AIDS and young mothers in crisis. He has volunteered locally as a peer tutor, and he has donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through the Young Men’s Service League.
