The 6-foot, 160-pound senior defender led the Gaels to a 26-0-1 record and the Class 4A state championship this past season. Buckley tallied seven goals and six assists, including the only assist in Gorman’s 1-0 win over Eldorado High in the state final. The Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada Player of the Year, he is a three-time All-State selection. Also a participant in the U.S. Youth Soccer Region IV Olympic Development Program, he played in the High School All-American Game this past December.
Buckley has maintained a weighted 4.0 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer on scholarship at the University of Santa Clara.
Buckley has participated in a service-mission trip to Jamaica where he helped care for people in need, including children with HIV/AIDS and young mothers in crisis. He has volunteered locally as a peer tutor, and he has donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through the Young Men’s Service League.
