The 5-foot-9 junior right-handed pitcher led the Panthers to a 26-2 record and the Class 3A state championship this past season. Nelson owned a 21-2 mark in the circle with a 0.51 earned run average and 289 strikeouts in 138.1 innings pitched. She fired five no-hitters, including two perfect games, and in early April she struck out 30 batters in a row across two games. At the plate, Nelson batted .654 with 17 home runs, 46 runs scored, 51 runs batted in and a 1.457 slugging percentage.
Nelson has maintained a 3.97 GPA in the classroom. She has made a verbal commitment to play softball on scholarship at the University of Washington beginning in the fall of 2019.
Nelson has volunteered locally as a youth softball and volleyball coach, and she has donated her time to multiple community service projects through her church.
