The 6-foot-5, 200-pound senior guard led the Mustangs (35-2) record and the CIF Open Division state title this past season along with a berth in the upcoming Throne National Championships. Burries averaged 29.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.9 steals through 37 games while connecting on 364-of-655 shots from the field (55.6 percent). He led Roosevelt to three championships in 2025, winning the Southern Section Open Division and Southern Region Open Division tournaments prior to the overall CIF crown. A 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game selection, he’s ranked as the nation’s No. 9 recruit in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports and enters the Throne Nationals with 2,550 points in his prep basketball career.
Burries has maintained a weighted 3.49 GPA in the classroom. He remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.
A member of the Umoja Program at his school, which supports the academic success, personal growth and self-actualization of African American and other students, Burries has volunteered locally at the YMCA and the Bobby Bonds Youth Center. He has also donated his time by feeding the homeless population in San Bernardino and Riverside in addition to participating in his school’s Back to School backpack giveaway as well as charitable giveaways during the holiday season.
