Athletic Excellence


The 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior center fielder was a Rawlings-Perfect Game 2020 Preseason Honorable Mention All-Atlantic Region honoree and is ranked as West Virginia’s No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2020 by Prep Baseball Report. Dearing led the Redskins (33-6) to the Class AAA state final in 2019, batting .427 with three home runs, 33 RBI and 37 runs scored. An All-State selection, he also stole eight bases and pitched eight scoreless innings last spring.

Academic Achievement


Dearing has maintained a 4.04 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Marshall University.

Exemplary Character


Captain of the Hurricane basketball team in 2019-20, Dearing has served as a Spanish tutor for elementary school students and has volunteered locally on behalf of the Special Olympics, clothing drives for the needy and youth sports programs.
