The 5-foot-8, 130-pound junior won the Division II Class AA state meet this past season with a time of 15:03.6, breaking the tape 21.6 seconds ahead of his next-closest competitor and leading the Tornado to the team title. The highlight of Beroset’s season came two weeks later when he won the NXN Southeast Regional in a personal-best 14:45.3, sparking McCAllie to a third-place finish and earning First Team All-Region honors. He won four of his 7 races last fall and concluded his campaign by placing 53rd at Nike Cross Nationals.
Beroset has maintained a 3.74 in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
A transfer from the state of Florida, Beroset has volunteered locally mentoring youth runners.
