“Andrea was very versatile as she played defender and midfielder. We had to man-mark her to shut her down. She wins every ball in the air, she’s strong with the ball (at her feet), she’s a smart player and everything runs through her.”
Charity Cress
Head Coach - head coach of Liberty High

Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-5 senior midfielder scored 18 goals and passed for nine assists this past season, leading the Crusaders (18-5-2) to the Class 5A state championship game. A past member of the U.S. Soccer Under-17 Women’s National Team player pool, Leyva was invited to play in the High School All-American Game last fall. She was the 2023 5A Southern Region Defensive Player of the Year and concluded her prep soccer career with 40 goals and 31 assists.

Academic Achievement

Leyva has maintained a weighted 3.98 GPA in the classroom. Taking advantage of NCAA early signing rules, Leyva inked a financial-aid agreement that paved the way for her to enroll early at the University of Washington. She graduated from high school in December and attended classes in the spring semester.

Exemplary Character

Leyva has volunteered locally as a youth soccer coach and camp counselor.
