Athletic Excellence


The 6-foot-8, 210-pound senior forward led the Gaels to a 38-4 record and both the Baltimore Catholic League regular-season and tournament championships this past season. Hansberry averaged 15.3 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game, including a 17-point, 21-rebound effort in MSJ’s 59-50 win over St. Maria Goretti High in the BCL tournament title game as the Gaels tied a state record for wins in a season. The 2023 BCL Player of the Year and the 2022 Baltimore Sun Metro Player of the Year, he’s ranked as the nation’s No. 52 recruit in the Class of 2023 by ESPN.com.

Academic Achievement


Hansberry has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at the University of Illinois this fall.

Hansberry has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach.
