“My clear No. 1 in the state is Amalia Fruchtman. She’s the most consistent, and she does the most with the least amount of talent around her. She makes everyone around her better.”

Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot-1 senior wing led the Vikings to a 19-3 record and a trip to the second round of the Delaware state tournament this past season. Fruchtman averaged 21 points and 7.3 rebounds while shooting 51 percent from the field and finished her high school career with 1,395 points. She has earned invitations to both the Philly All-American Showcase and the Delaware Blue-Gold All-Star game this summer.

Academic Achievement

Fruchtman has maintained an A average in the classroom. She remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.

Exemplary Character

A National Honor Society member, Fruchtman has volunteered locally with Morgan’s Message, a non-profit that strives to eliminate any mental health stigma in youth sports. She is a competitive volleyball player and golfer who helped develop Cape Henlopen’s school golf club. She also won the DIAA Jennifer Mayer Humanitarian & Service Award.
