The 6-foot-2 senior outside hitter recorded 487 kills for an average of 4.8 per set this past season, leading the SkyHawks (29-11) to the Class B semifinals. West compiled a lethally efficient .440 hitting percentage and added 358 digs along with 38 service aces. Ranked as the nation’s No. 78 recruit in her class by PrepVolleyball, she was an AVCA Second Team All-American selection and concluded her prep volleyball career as the school leader in kills with 1,612.
West has maintained a weighted 4.2 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play volleyball at the University of North Carolina this fall.
The winner of the Monsignor Eugene Scholarship Award for Outstanding Service to School and Community, she has volunteered locally on behalf of the St. Robert Bellarmine Church and School, the Play it Forward Youth Sports Organization, the Sunset Retirement Village, Macy’s Way, Abide, the Open Door Mission, the Food Bank for the Heartland and the Special Olympics, among others. Also a member of her school’s student council, she participates in a number of school club organizations as well.
