The state’s returning Gatorade State Player of the Year, the 5-foot-8 senior guard led the Panthers to a 36-1 record and a third straight Class 1A state championship this past season. Austin averaged 26.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, including a 40-point effort in her prep finale, a 73-43 win over Brilliant High in the state final. The two-time Class 1A Player of the Year and the state’s 2024 Miss Basketball winner, Austin is ranked as the nation’s No. 39 recruit in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports. She concluded her high school basketball career with 3,940 points, 1,430 assists, 1,379 rebounds and 861 steals, ranking No. 2 in state history in assists and steals as well as No. 7 in points.
Austin has maintained an A average in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play basketball at the University of Alabama this fall.
An officer in her school’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America chapter, Austin is a member of the yearbook staff and an Open House guide. She has volunteered locally with the Spring Garden High Beta Club and as a youth basketball coach.
