The 6-foot-3, 165-pound senior jumps specialist won two individual events at the Division I state championships this past season, leading the Golden Bears to the team title. Owens-Player won the long jump title with a leap of 22 feet, 5.75 inches and the triple jump title with a leap of 46-1. He also took fourth in the triple jump at Nike Outdoor Nationals, where he set a state record with 48-7.5 effort, earning All-American honors in the process.
Owens-Player has maintained a 4.16 weighted GPA in the classroom. He will attend the University of Oregon this fall and hopes to make the track and field team as a walk-on.
A National Honor Society member, Owens-Player has volunteered locally on behalf of an annual food drive. He has also participated in student government.
