At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior right-handed pitcher and shortstop had led the Scarlets to a 16-3 record and a berth in the Class AAA sectional tournament this season. Magers produced a 6-0 record on the mound through 19 games with a 0.80 ERA and 74 strikeouts against just 11 walks in 43.2 innings, holding opposing hitters to a .138 batting average. Ranked as the state’s No. 10 prospect in the Class of 2024, he batted .375 with a home run, 18 RBI, 18 runs, 12 stolen bases and a .997 OPS.
Magers has maintained a 3.96 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at Creighton University this fall.
A member of the National Honor Society, Magers has volunteered locally on behalf of the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato and the Kiwanis Holiday Lights.
