“Will Sheets turned in some impressive showings at top invitationals during the regular season, clocked the state’s fastest 5K of 2024 and earned First Team All-Region honors at the NXN Southeast Regional. All in all, he was Kentucky’s best in my view.”

Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound senior was the state’s top finisher at the Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational this past season, where he took third overall, and the Cabell Midland XC Festival, where he placed second. Sheets was one of only Kentucky prep boys to qualify for the national NXN Final by way of his fourth-place finish at NXN Southeast, which earned him First Team All-Region recognition. He crossed the line second at the Class 2A state meet last fall, helping the Colonels to the team title. Also the 2022-23 Gatorade Kentucky Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year, he clocked the state’s fastest 5K in 2024 and ranked No. 90 in the national Dyestat 100.
