At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound senior right-handed pitcher, first baseman and catcher had led the Seahawks to a 17-2 record and the state tournament quarterfinals. August went 6-1 with a 1.29 earned run average, striking out 87 batters in 49 innings through 19 games. Ranked as the state’s top recruit in the Class of 2023 by Perfect Game, he’d posted a .411 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage with a home run, 20 RBI and 10 walks entering the round of eight.
August has maintained a 3.11 weighted GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at the University of Delaware this fall.
An accomplished wrestler and member of the Seahawks’ 2022 state title team, August has donated his time locally on behalf of the Salvation Army and has volunteered as a youth baseball coach.
